In November 2017 Radley Village Shop Association used money from its reserves to pay off the outstanding balance on the mortgage taken out six years ago to buy the lease of the shop premises. The shop’s success over the past 10 years in achieving an annual surplus had enabled it to build up significant reserves.
Radley Village Shop has maintained its five star (maximum) rating for food hygiene under the Scores on the Doors food hygiene scheme used by many local authorities including the Vale of the White Horse District Council. An environmental health inspector visited on Saturday 6 January and had a thorough look around and sampled our records
Shop stalwarts, Bob and Pat Earl, have been recognised for their long-standing commitment to Radley Village Shop with an Unsung Hero Award from the Vale of White Horse District Council. The award was presented by Councillor Reg White, chairman of the Council, at a celebration lunch at the Beacon in Wantage on Saturday 4th November.
